Description:

QC Technician Martin Marietta is seeking a QC Technician to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently sampling and performing routine laboratory testing of aggregate material under the supervision of the Site Manager or other designated personnel. The QC Technician will ensure that all products are consistent with prescribed standards and specifications. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations.Blue Ridge QuarryBlue Ridge, VirginiaHours: 7AM - 7PM, weekends as necessaryA typical day for a QC Technician may include:Using prescribed standards to determine chemical and/or physical characteristics for quality control purposes and to determine conformity to specificationsSetting up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instrumentations such as agitators, scales, ovens, and other lab equipment as requiredWorking around industrial equipment and machinery to obtain material samples from production facilities such as conveyors, stockpiles, rail cars and/or customer sitesReporting and communicates test results internally and externally (DOT and other customers as required)Cleaning, maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipmentInspecting stockpiles for proper construction and haul units for cleanlinessMaintaining test data files and records test results in AggQC and/or standardized formsInvestigating and resolves customer technical problems under the guidance of designated personnel as neededAiding in the training of co-workers as neededPerforming other duties as assigned by supervisorYou may be a good fit if you:Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this positionHave two (2) years' experience in quality control in an aggregate or construction environment (preferred)Have a Technical degree (preferred)Are State certified for aggregate field and laboratory testing (preferred)We are excited to share the base range for this position is $25.78 - $28.50, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range.
