Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $17.00–$17.50/hour


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Coordinator to schedule and pre-register new patients for examinations and procedures. This position maintains accurate patient records, verifies insurance and benefits, coordinates appointments, and provides excellent patient service while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.


Essential Duties

  • Answer incoming calls and assess patients' needs using appropriate questions.
  • Schedule new patient appointments with the appropriate provider.
  • Provide appointment details, including time, location, directions, and preparation instructions.
  • Maintain physician schedules and ensure patients are scheduled appropriately.
  • Coordinate with triage nurses to accommodate scheduling requests.
  • Obtain and enter patient demographics, insurance, and required pre-visit information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and co-pay information with payers.
  • Confirm required pre-authorizations are completed before patient visits.
  • Send medical forms to patients for completion when needed.
  • Follow up with patients regarding missing or outdated insurance information, medical records, and test results.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and resolve routine and non-routine issues.
  • Train new Patient Services Coordinators on policies and procedures.
  • Review coworkers' work and provide guidance on procedures when needed.
  • Research and assist with escalated issues.
  • Identify workflow gaps and recommend tools or processes to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of patient pre-services or healthcare scheduling experience required.
  • Associate degree in Finance, Business, or related field, or 4 years of revenue cycle experience preferred.
  • Experience with patient scheduling and insurance verification preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and computer systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multiple demands.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, quality, and excellent patient service.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain high performance standards.
  • Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of hire.
