Facility Safety Coordinator

The Facility Safety Coordinator serves as a key resource during emergencies, providing leadership and coordination to ensure the hospital remains prepared to respond effectively to internal and external incidents while maintaining a safe environment for all who enter the facility.

Facility Safety Coordinator is responsible for:

• Maintaining life safety standards
• Leading emergency management committee (emergency management, disaster preparedness planning and incident command activities)
• Maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including standards established by The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and local, state, and federal agencies
• Overseeing safety and security personnel
• Managing physical security operations
• Workplace violence prevention initiatives
• Monitoring access control systems
• Maintaining fire and life safety compliance
• Maintaining Environment of Care (EOC) programs
• Monitoring and creating Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM)
• Collaborating closely with clinical and non-clinical departments, engineering, facilities management, infection prevention, quality, risk management, and local emergency response agencies to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.

What qualifications you will need:

• Driver License (DL)
• Certified Life Safety Specialist for HC FMs (CLSS-HC)
• Associate Degree
• Minimum one-year clerical experience required
