Mission Contribution: The High School Business and Information Technology Teacher empowers students with the technology, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills necessary for academic, career, and lifelong success. Through engaging, standards-aligned instruction in business applications, computer technologies, information systems, and emerging technologies, the teacher prepares students to effectively use technology in postsecondary education, the workplace, and everyday life. This role fosters critical thinking, collaboration, professional skills, and responsible digital citizenship while supporting student achievement through a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Summary: The High School Business and Information Technology Teacher guides students to apply problem-solving skills to real-life situations through word processing, spreadsheets, databases, multimedia presentations, and integrated software activities. The teacher assists students individually and in groups to explore computer concepts, operating systems, networks, telecommunications, emerging technologies, and career opportunities related to the business field. The High School Business and Information Technology Teacher facilitates student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing state approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students'; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. The teacher reports to the Principal and Lead Teacher.
