Backed by advanced technology, lifecycle services, and an industry-leading field organization, Johnson Controls delivers performance where it matters most.Position Summary The Production Quality Assurance and Control Technician is responsible for inspecting finished products, in-process production, and incoming materials to ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements. This role performs visual and dimensional inspections, documents nonconformances, supports quality audits, and assists with investigations of basic production and supplier quality issues.Essential Duties And Responsibilities Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and instructions.Inspect completed mechanical and electrical assemblies for compliance with engineering and quality specifications using visual and measurement techniques.Inspect in-process production and incoming components from suppliers; document and communicate nonconformances.Approve or reject finished products, in-process production, and incoming materials; return products for rework when requirements are not met.Perform first article inspections on new or revised supplier parts.Assist with internal and external quality audits and lead investigations on basic production quality issues.Calibrate, maintain, and properly use inspection tools, fixtures, and measurement instruments, including CMM equipment.Complete quality reports and accurately communicate inspection results to manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers.Acquire, analyze, and report quality data in support of the quality management system.Support continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturing processes and supplier performance.Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.Comply with quality policies and procedures to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, and achievement of business goals.Develop, implement, and maintain systems to track manufacturing and supplier quality performance; prepare and evaluate data for management review.Qualifications EducationRequired: High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred: Two-year degree in mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in a light industrial, manufacturing, or machine shop environmentExperience with precision parts and assemblies preferredFamiliarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, PPAP, SPC, and lean manufacturing principles preferredSkills And KnowledgeAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructionsProficiency using measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicator gauges, and CMM equipmentStrong knowledge of inspection procedures, manufacturing processes, and statistical process controlExcellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to read, write, and speak EnglishPhysical Demands Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periodsAbility to use hands for inspection, assembly, and tool operationAbility to occasionally lift and/or move materials in accordance with company lifting standardsVision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustmentMust be able to work with metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steelWork Environment Exposure to moving and/or heated mechanical parts, adhesive fumes, airborne particles, and energized electrical systemsModerate noise levels for limited periodsRequired PPE and safety training provided by the companyCompensation Hourly Range: $17.30 $25.90(Compensation is based on education, experience, skills, internal equity, location, and market alignment.)This position includes a competitive benefits package.
