Illuminights Attendant

The primary responsibility of the Illuminights Attendant is to provide excellent customer service and logistical support to ensure an exceptional guest experience throughout the event. The role includes assisting customers with requests, resolving complaints, and supporting the setup, operation, and breakdown of event displays and attractions. This position requires the use of independent judgment to resolve issues under general supervision. Shift Hours and/or Days worked: Various

Essential Job Functions

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and assist in all areas of event operations.
  • Collaborate with team members on event-specific tasks, including managing parking, assisting with merchandise sales, and guiding groups through the event space.
  • Engage with the public professionally, providing information about the event and addressing guest concerns.
  • Assist with ticketing, admissions, and event navigation.
  • Support administrative tasks and provide general assistance as needed.
  • Ensure event areas are clean, organized, and functioning smoothly.
  • Assist with technical troubleshooting for displays, sound systems, and lighting as directed by supervisors.
  • Provide detailed event information, including schedules, special programming, and promotions.
  • Uphold safety protocols and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for all guests.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for creating memorable holiday experiences for guests of all ages.

Requirements/Preferences

Education: Required: None Experience: Preferred: 1-2 years of customer service experience in a variety of settings. Certifications/Licenses: Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license and have a good driving record. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills (in person and by phone).
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, take initiative, and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to maintain effective relationships with colleagues and the public.
  • Ability to set up and break down event equipment (tables, chairs, etc.).
  • Adaptability to changing work environments, including weather conditions and guest needs.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as walking, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to monitor and report trail conditions.
  • Ability to effectively interact with park guests and provide support as needed.
  • Ability to work in proximity of wildlife.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None Additional Requirements: Subject to a complete criminal history and Child Protective Services background search with acceptable results. May be subject to DMV driving record review as required by amount of work-related driving, specified by support responsibilities. Must also be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section of this job description. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
