Warehouse Associate

Black Bear Talent is seeking a dependable and detail oriented Warehouse Associate to join our client's distribution and fulfillment team in Roanoke, Virginia. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are accurately received, processed, stored, and shipped to customers. The ideal candidate is organized, safety conscious, and committed to delivering high quality work in a fast paced warehouse environment.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to company standards.
  • Accurately label, sort, and organize inventory within the warehouse.
  • Perform inventory counts and assist with cycle counting activities.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently following all company procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
  • Follow shipping documentation and order fulfillment procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory, shipments, and order status.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and warehouse best practices.

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.

Required Skills

  • Must have excellent attendance and a proven, stable work history. Reliability and dependability are essential for success in this role.
  • Must possess impeccable attention to detail with the ability to accurately process orders, verify inventory, and maintain quality standards with minimal errors.
