Position SummaryThe Freight & Offload Quote Specialist is responsible for developing accurate, timely, and competitive freight and offloading service quotes. This role involves analyzing shipment details, negotiating rates with carriers and crane companies, and providing cost-effective logistics solutions. The specialist will play a critical role in supporting sales and operations teams to secure new business while maintaining strong relationships with transportation providers.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and review customer shipment requests and gather critical details such as origin, destination, dimensions, weight, volume, and delivery timelines.Utilize freight quoting tools and systems to identify carrier rates, transit times, and service options.Analyze market trends, capacity, and rate fluctuations to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.Develop comprehensive quotes, including freight, offload, accessorial charges, and transit commitments.Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, brokers, and logistics partners.Negotiate pricing and service levels based on shipment specifics and market conditions.Assess offloading requirements and coordinate crane, rigging, or specialized handling needs.Monitor freight market conditions and track quote conversion metrics.Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support business growth.Strong understanding of freight operations including trucking, heavy haul, crane and rail transportation.Experience with freight quoting platforms and TMS systems.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.Strong negotiation skills with carriers and 3PL service providers.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Preferred QualificationsExperience with specialized equipment such as lowboy, flatbed, RGN, step-deck, and multi-axle trailers.Knowledge of oversize/overweight permits, route planning, and regulatory compliance.Experience coordinating escort vehicles and rail clearances.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.Minimum 4+ years of experience in freight quoting, logistics operations, or a related role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
