Field Technician-Mechanic (paving operations)
Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking a Field Technician-Mechanic (paving operations) for our Staunton, VA location in the VA SMA. This position will be reporting to the Shop/Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Wages starting at $18.00/hr. Higher pay offered for experienced multi-craft maintenance professionals.

Rotating Shifts (day/night)
Weekend work may be required

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs on heavy trucks, heavy equipment and asphalt equipment.
- Trouble shoot and diagnose a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brakes, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating and cooling, and electrical systems.
- Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
- Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
- Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
- Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
- Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment.
- Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
Qualifications:
- Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.
- Minimum of three years of experience working on construction equipment and on-road trucks.
- Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
- Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections preferred
- Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
- Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet
- Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
