Global Category Manager

We are building our team for the next phase of growth and are looking for an experienced Global

Category Manager to drive category strategy across critical transformer components and materials.
Virginia Transformer is the largest U.owned manufacturer of power transformers in North America , with over 5,800 employees and more than 50 years of industry leadership . Our continued expansion is driven by engineering excellence, premium quality, and industry-leading lead times.

The Global Category Manager will own strategic product spend categories developing and executing sourcing strategies that ensure cost competitiveness, supplier reliability, and material availability that support production and business growth.

Develop and implement category and commodity sourcing strategies and long-term supplier partnerships.
Team with business operations and key supply partners to apply efficiency gains and innovations where applicable.
Monitor and continually improve supplier performance commitments across cost, quality, and delivery.
Collaborate with engineering, planning, and operations to support production demand
Identify supply chain risks and mitigation strategies

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Discipline
~5+ years of sourcing and category management experience in a manufacturing environment
~ Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel / data analysis

Experience sourcing steel, copper, electrical components, or engineered parts
Background in power, heavy manufacturing, or industrial equipment
