The Driver will operate a small cube truck or other ancillary equipment on assigned route to service customers by safely delivering and removing residential roll-out carts to old and new customers within productivity guidelines established by management.

The Opportunity

As a Container Delivery Driver, you are a vital part of our residential operations. You will operate a pickup truck with a trailer to deliver, swap, and retrieve waste and recycling carts for our neighbors. This is a high-visibility role that rewards independence, precision driving, and great customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Route Execution: Drive a pickup truck with a trailer along designated residential routes to deliver, swap, or retrieve carts.

• Master the Maneuver: Navigate into and out of tight spaces and back up distances of 120+ feet using mirrors and safety best practices.

• Precision Service: Place carts at curbside or back-door locations per service agreements, ensuring the site is safe for future collection.

• Safety First: Conduct rigorous pre- and post-trip inspections (DVIRs) and follow all lockout/tagout procedures. At GFL, safety is our way of life.

• Logistics & Maintenance: Manually load/unload carts (up to 50 lbs) or utilize a forklift. Ensure the truck and customer sites remain clean and free of loose debris.

• Customer Ambassadorship: Courteously interact with the public to answer questions and represent the GFL brand with pride.

What You'll Bring

• The Essentials: A valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.

• The Credentials: High school diploma or GED desired. (While a CDL is not required for this role, the ability or willingness to obtain one in the future is a plus!)

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs repetitively and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Technical Skill: Ability to use a key map and GPS to locate service addresses and maintain daily productivity logs.

• Safety Mindset: Ability to recognize unacceptable waste (flammables, hazardous materials) and follow all company safety policies.
