Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Project Manager to work in the Roanoke, VA area. This position offers a variety of great benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. Location: Roanoke, Virginia (candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius) Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week + potential overtime) Work Environment: Onsite (5 days/week) Travel: Approximately 25% (including day trips and overnight stays across WV, VA, and MD about one week per month) Project Duration: Long-term (5+ years)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager to support a long-term joint venture (JV) project within the utility and major construction sector. This role will manage projects of increasing complexity in a matrix team environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution while delivering high levels of stakeholder satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to grow into progressively larger project leadership responsibilities over the course of a multi-year initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and lead planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating project activities
  • Manage project lifecycle phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/control, and closeout
  • Act on behalf of the Lead Project Manager when required
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and tools
  • Communicate project status, risks, and updates through meetings, reports, and presentations
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Promote and enforce a Zero Harm safety culture aligned with system safety processes
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost efficiency
  • Assist with procurement planning, RFP development, bid evaluation, and contract management
  • Ensure vendor performance aligns with contract requirements
  • Support project closeout, including performance evaluation and benefits realization
  • Coach and mentor team members in project management practices

Qualifications Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field + 3 years of relevant experience, OR
  • Associate's degree in a related field + 5 years of relevant experience

Required Experience:

  • Project management experience in utility, power systems, or major construction
  • Experience in outage management, construction operations, estimating, project controls, or engineering
  • Strong understanding of construction safety, scope management, cost estimating, and contracting

Preferred:

  • PMP Certification

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 and PMBOK principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Strategic thinking, risk assessment, and problem-solving capabilities

Additional Requirements

  • Valid state driver's license required
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% (may vary depending on project needs)
  • Ability to work onsite full-time (5 days/week)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage deliverables, and provide constructive feedback
