RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGERAs an Orvis Assistant Store Manager, you are responsible for assisting in all management responsibilities of the retail store, including leading the team in the absence of the Store Manager. You help the manager set the tone for how the team delivers consistent, world-class customer service. You help create a store environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and an educational resource for the surrounding community. Position will interface daily with store associates and, when needed, with the District Manager, the Director of Retail Sales and Operations, Human Resources, Store Merchants and Planners, Marketing, Accounting, and Orvis Service Center associates.We are looking for:Independent leaders who can learn on the fly, demonstrate integrity and mutual respect, and create a fun and energetic store vibeExcellent retail business acumen including selling skills, and sales analysisSkills and confidence to tailor the Orvis brand presentation and merchandising to the unique Store space and floor plan of an individual storeFamiliarity with payroll planning and schedulingAbility to handle ambiguity, use sound judgement, and solve problems for customers and associatesUp-to-date computer skills with the aptitude to learn and utilize business programs as well as the ability to teach these programs to the teamPhysical strength to reach, move, and handle merchandise in high and low areas, lift up to 30 pounds, and the stamina to execute floor setsPhysical ability to be on feet (standing/walking) for extended periods of timeFlexibility with schedule including weekend availabilityDesired Qualifications:Specialty retail experienceCollege degreeTo access our California Applicant Privacy Notice, follow this link:
