Job Details

Employee performs prepress work to prepare plates for reproduction on flexographic printing presses.

Essential job duties include the following:

• Making plates using Esko Artwork software.

• Checking artwork for potential issues before making plates

• Imposition of plates for the most efficient fit

• Maintaining file structure for plate files in the plate department

• Preparing and mounting plates to meet correct machine specifications (tolerances)

• Providing technical support/advice when needed

• Keeping computer desktops in order and workstations clean

• Maintaining plate filing & recycling system

• Maintaining plate room equipment & monitoring materials

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Specialized coursework/experience in graphic design and /or digital prepress.

• Minimum of 5 years general work experience and 5 years in a print environment

• Ability to work well with others

• Must maintain a professional attitude

• Basic computer knowledge

Other Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and make good decisions

• Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail
