What You'll Experience in This Role

· Geriatrics ambulatory clinic (highly respected Center for Healthy Aging)

· Join a team of seven physicians, four APPs, and experienced social workers, nurses, social workers and support staff

· Practice at the top of your license as a geriatrics consultant across inpatient units, a geriatric-focused emergency department, and telehealth services

· Make a visible impact by improving care for complex older adults with conditions like delirium, dementia, falls, and polypharmacy

· Work in a nationally recognized clinical setting at a 703-bed Level 1 trauma center and a 146 bed- Level 2 trauma center with diverse and complex cases

· Shape innovative care models, including geriatric ED programs, telemedicine, and outpatient follow-up pathways

· Collaborate daily with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, APPs, and hospital staff who value geriatrics expertise

Grow Academically & Professionally

· Hold an academic appointment with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine

· Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows

· Engage in research, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives

· Pursue scholarly interests with strong institutional support and flexibility to tailor your role

· Predictable consultative schedule with limited call (primarily phone-based)
