Position Summary

The Shipping Specialist – Corporate Coordinator is responsible for developing, standardizing, and optimizing shipping, packaging, and transportation processes across VTC manufacturing facilities. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of finished transformer products to customers, minimizing transit damage while meeting regulatory, customer, and operational requirements. The position serves as a subject matter expert in logistics, packaging, and transportation compliance across the U.S. and Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize shipping, packaging, and transportation processes across multiple facilities
  • Ensure compliance with CTPAT, OEA, ISTA, ISO standards, and transportation regulations in the U.S. and Mexico
  • Define and implement best practices for packaging methods, labeling, and finished product handling
  • Evaluate transportation modes, capacities, and routing strategies to optimize cost, safety, and delivery timelines
  • Establish procedures to prevent transit damage, including packaging validation and load securement practices
  • Oversee and support final product audits, including packaging verification, packing lists, and shipping documentation
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure readiness for shipment
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for shipping-related issues, including damage, delays, or compliance gaps
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, APQP, and FMEA methodologies
  • Develop and maintain shipping standards, procedures, and work instructions
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with logistics processes and quality management systems
  • Support customer-specific shipping requirements and special handling needs
  • Train and mentor plant personnel on packaging, shipping standards, and compliance requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Quality, Logistics Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, or quality engineering
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, shipping processes, and packaging standards
  • Experience with CTPAT, OEA, ISTA, ISO standards, and cross-border shipping requirements (U.S./Mexico)
  • Understanding of transport types, load capacities, and finished product handling
  • Proven ability to apply root cause analysis tools
  • Bilingual: English (B2/C1) and conversational Spanish
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Knowledge of packaging materials, pallets, crates, and containerization methods
  • Experience with shipping audits, documentation, and inspection processes
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and process auditing
  • Experience with manufacturing tools and equipment related to packaging and shipping
  • Background in training, instruction, or technical development
  • Experience in heavy industrial, transformer, or oversized equipment shipping
