Position Summary

The Sealing Specialist – Corporate Coordinator is responsible for developing, standardizing, and optimizing sealing and assembly processes across VTC manufacturing facilities. This role ensures the integrity of sealing systems in transformer products, preventing leaks and ensuring long-term performance and reliability. The position serves as a subject matter expert in gaskets, flanges, bolting, and sealing technologies, driving quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize sealing and assembly processes across multiple facilities
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, ASTM, and ASNT standards related to flanges, bolting, and sealing systems
  • Define best practices for gasket installation, bolting sequences, and torque application
  • Optimize assembly processes to ensure proper sealing performance and prevent leaks
  • Support troubleshooting of pressure vessel leaks and sealing failures using root cause analysis
  • Establish and oversee inspection and testing methods, including torque verification and visual leak detection
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve product reliability and manufacturability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, APQP, and FMEA methodologies
  • Develop and maintain technical procedures, specifications, and work instructions
  • Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with sealing standards and quality systems
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) with sealing process development, validation, and implementation
  • Train and mentor plant personnel on sealing techniques, standards, and best practices

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Materials Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or quality engineering
  • Strong knowledge of sealing systems, gasket installation, and bolted joint assembly
  • Experience with process development and standardization
  • Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, and ASNT standards
  • Proven ability to apply root cause analysis tools
  • Bilingual: English (B2/C1) and conversational Spanish
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Knowledge of materials such as elastomers, polymers, sealants, and gasket types
  • Experience with torque methods, bolting calculations, and calibration of assembly tools
  • Familiarity with leak detection methods and inspection techniques
  • Experience with quality management systems and process auditing
  • Background in training, instruction, or technical development
  • Experience in transformer manufacturing or pressure vessel environments
