Your role will involve determining efficient and safe routing methods of transportation, managing scheduling of shipments and notifying departments or customers of arrival/pickup dates, communicating with truck drivers through computer software, cell phones or two way radios, answering inbound calls from customers for dispatching and to obtain trucking rates for incoming/outgoing shipments, contributing to team effort by accomplishing additional duties as needed, preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and providing feedback by answering questions and requests.
To succeed in this position, you'll need prior DOT and dispatching experience preferred, SAP system experience preferred, basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required, exceptional customer service skills required, excellent written and verbal communication skills required. A high school diploma or GED is required, and a bachelor's degree is preferred.
