What you will have an opportunity to do:

1st Shift Security Officer
Schedule: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | Weekends and holidays required

We are seeking a highly engaging, safety-minded, and customer-focused professional to join our Security team as a 1st Shift Security Officer at our dynamic hotel and conference center. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating a safe, welcoming environment and enjoys being a visible, trusted presence for guests and team members alike.

The successful candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and committed to leading by example. You will interact regularly with guests, associates, and leadership, responding with courtesy, confidence, and discretion while providing both personal and professional support to the team.

The Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a secure, comfortable, and well-managed property. By supporting other departments and remaining proactive in your approach, you help ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction and employee safety. Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce property and Benchmark safety policies and procedures while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and teamwork.
• Promote a safe working and guest environment by following established safety practices and protocols.
• Conduct preventive patrols and maintain a strong security presence to deter and reduce criminal activity.
• Preserve order and promote a calm, non-threatening atmosphere for guests and employees.
• Assist individuals in danger or in need of medical attention and coordinate appropriate emergency response.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in accordance with the property's Emergency Services Procedures.
• Safeguard guest and employee information in reports and daily operations.
• Accurately complete Daily Activity Logs and Incident Reports.
• Support compliance with applicable liquor laws and regulations.
• Assist in the development and presentation of security-related training and programs.
• Review and edit reports and documentation prepared by other Security Officers.
• Provide support to other job functions or departments as assigned by leadership.

What are we looking for?
Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in hospitality and/or security environments preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience preferred.
• Two (2) years of security, law enforcement, or military experience (civilian or military), with hotel or hospitality exposure strongly preferred.
• Completion of two (2) years of college coursework in a safety, security, criminal justice, or hospitality-related discipline preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs require.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification required or the ability to obtain if hired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate reports and interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
