OVERVIEW:

The Clinical Affairs Training Specialist (CATS) is instrumental in ensuring that physicians and their teams receive top-notch training and clinical support to maximize the adoption of our LAL technology. This role combineshands-on procedural support, comprehensive staff training, clinical evaluations, and post-operative care management, all aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.

The CATS is essential in maintaining high-quality LAL-specific clinical methods and facilitating the smooth operational integration of our technology into various practices. Responsibilities include optimizing clinical efficiency, executing strategic adoption plans, and ensuring that accounts meet performance benchmarks while proactively identifying challenges to foster sustainable growth. Collaboration with Sales, Customer Development Managers, and internal departments is key to aligning strategies and ensuring seamless clinical implementation. Maintaining open dialogue with customers is vital for incorporating feedback into our processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver targeted training for physicians and staff on RxSight technology and best practices.
  • Partner with Customer Development Managers (CDMs) to develop and implement effective LAL adoption strategies, track performance metrics, and identify training needs.
  • Create and execute personalized clinical adoption plans tailored to each customer's growth goals.
  • Engage with customer sites to ensure successful onboarding and set clear expectations.
  • Help manage new customer introductions alongside CDMs, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Regularly assess and enhance the effectiveness of clinical training programs.
  • Assist in managing customer complaints, providing data insights, and proposing solutions for escalated clinical issues.
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical support relating to patient selection, implantation, post-operative evaluations, and LDD treatments.
  • Offer strategies and improvements to enhance clinical methodologies and optimize RxSight technology outcomes.
  • Maintain and update the Training Portal (RxConnect) to reflect current training activities and site readiness.
  • Participate in site-level business reviews, offering insights on clinical performance to shape account strategies.
  • Take ownership of LAL growth and clinical execution within assigned accounts while proactively addressing barriers to adoption.
  • Conduct outcome analyses and present findings demonstrating the effectiveness of the LAL.
  • Ensure proper use and distribution of marketing and patient education materials.
  • Conduct periodic cycle counts of LAL inventory for accurate reporting.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional communication skills across various organizational levels, including surgeons and clinical staff.
  • Extensive clinical experience in cataract surgery planning, biometry, and device operations.
  • In-depth understanding of the cataract diagnostic process and patient flow at clinics.
  • Familiarity with operating room environments pertaining to cataract surgery.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • A minimum of six years of clinical experience in the ophthalmic industry.
  • Valid driver's license with unrestricted travel ability.
  • Ability to analyze clinical performance trends and strategize to increase LAL usage.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to implement adoption strategies.
  • Experience with CRM tools and clinical documentation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role does not involve direct supervisory responsibilities but encourages ownership of assigned accounts and leadership in training activities.
  • Support customer onboarding and practice development in collaboration with CDMs and Clinical Affairs Liaisons.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

  • BSc in Optometry, Master of Optometry, or BA/BS is preferred.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Solid background in manifest refractions.
  • Completion of training as outlined in the position's training plan.
  • Mandatory completion of insider trading, anti-bribery, and business conduct training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Formal training in vision sciences from a recognized optometry program is highly desirable (e.g., OD/COT/COA/COMT/CCOA).

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with CRM tools and commercial database solutions.

PERFORMANCE METRICS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Achieve quarterly LAL unit growth targets for assigned accounts.
  • Execute comprehensive clinical training and onboarding aligned with adoption plans.
  • Participate in business reviews to enhance LAL performance.
  • Demonstrate an ability to overcome operational challenges affecting LAL utilization.
  • Provide timely reports on training activities and performance trends.
  • Deliver consistent clinical support while upholding patient safety practices, measured by customer satisfaction.

Salary: $90,000 To $120,000 Per Year
