Location: Roanoke, VA

Salary Range: $120,000k-$130,000k

To lead this next phase, we are conducting a confidential search for an experienced HVAC General Manager. This is a true executive leadership role with full operational ownership. It is not a maintenance seat. It is a build, scale, and elevate opportunity.

Position Overview

The HVAC General Manager will oversee the complete residential service and installation operation. This leader will own financial performance, operational execution, sales strategy, customer experience, compliance, and talent development across the organization.

Operational & Financial Leadership

• Full ownership of annual operating plan, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L
• Drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and operational efficiency
• Establish and manage KPIs across service, install, sales, dispatch, and warehouse
• Implement scalable SOPs, quality standards, and performance metrics
• Optimize scheduling, technician capacity planning, dispatch efficiency, and inventory control
• Analyze job costing, productivity, callbacks, and warranty trends

Sales & Customer Experience

• Lead residential service and replacement sales strategy
• Strengthen lead conversion, average ticket value, and close rates
• Ensure ethical pricing and professional proposal standards
• Elevate the end-to-end customer journey from first call through final inspection
• Monitor and improve NPS, reviews, and overall brand reputation

Talent, Culture & Safety

• Directly lead Service Managers, Install Managers, Comfort Advisors, Dispatch, Customer Care, and Warehouse teams
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing field and leadership teams
• Create accountability structures and performance scorecards
• Champion a safety-first culture with training and compliance oversight
• Develop apprenticeship tracks, leadership pipelines, and succession planning

Strategy, Technology & Growth

• Strengthen vendor partnerships and procurement strategy
• Drive adoption and optimization of CRM, dispatch, and mobile field technology systems
• Identify new service lines and regional expansion opportunities
• Ensure compliance with licensing, permitting, EPA, OSHA, and safety regulations
• Oversee fleet safety, risk management, and operational compliance

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HVAC industry experience
• 5+ years in senior leadership overseeing residential service and installation operations
• Proven P&L ownership with measurable performance growth
• Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision-making skills
• Demonstrated success building teams and scalable operational systems
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred
• EPA 608 certification preferred; NATE or manufacturer certifications a plus
• Strategic leader who can operate both in the field and in the boardroom
