Description

Leads activities and monitors pre-kindergarten and school-age children in a childcare setting during adult programming. Operates in accordance with the mission, values and policies of the Association.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Meets and greets parents and children who are utilizing the childcare service.
2. Provides a safe, caring and fun environment for participants.
3. Respond to emergency situations.
4. Provides age appropriate activities for children during the hours of operation.
5. Is actively involved and engaged with the children during the time in which they are in the childcare area.
6. Maintains discipline in a loving and respectful fashion.
7. Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the childcare area.
8. Helps children in removing and putting on outer garments if needed.
9. Assists age-appropriate children in eating, resting and toileting.
10. Coordinate with your supervisor a substitute for your scheduled shift if you cannot work.
11. Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

• Ability to step, stand, sit, push, pull, stretch, lift and squat
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
