As a Student Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in nurturing students with special needs by assisting with academics, daily routines, and fostering positive behavior. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to create a consistent and supportive learning environment.

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and basic computer skills (familiarity with Outlook and Word)
• Excellent communication, reading, writing, and documentation abilities
• Dependable, punctual, and flexible team collaborator
• Composure, patience, and resilience when working with students facing challenges
• A genuine passion for supporting students with learning or behavioral differences

• Assist students across all age groups, from elementary to high school, with academics, social skills, and daily living needs
• Observe and document student behaviors, sharing valuable updates with the team to refine strategies
• Encourage independence by supporting self-help skills, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene
• Employ de-escalation techniques and calming strategies to maintain a structured and supportive environment
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, BCBAs, and parents to ensure cohesive and individualized care
