Job Description
Position: Maintenance Engineer - Continuous Improvement Specialist
Duties: Responsible for providing engineering and project support necessary to optimize equipment reliability and up-time and efficient plant planning and implementation. Provide a variety of roles within the maintenance department required to support the planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution and documentation of plant maintenance and project functions. Establishment of full maintenance programs (Productive, Preventative and Predictive) and act as reliability engineer. Focus in RCA analysis and other continuous improvement techniques. Lead and manage the preventive maintenance program by continual review and optimization. Management of maintenance programs focusing on problem solving techniques. Implement new tools to increase equipment reliability. Work with the Purchasing Department to ensure timely acquisition of maintenance spare parts. Help to conduct/coordinate RCA training for member of the Maintenance Department. Initiate, plan and design improvements to current processes to ensure safety, quality, customer satisfaction and productivity. Provide engineering and project management oversight for plant modifications and projects form conception through implementation. Assist Maintenance Management in the development of maintenance practices and procedures to ensure production capacity objectives are achieved. Provide engineering and troubleshooting support for the Maintenance Department. Conduct equipment evaluations and develop appropriate maintenance and reliability programs. Apply industrial machine redesign for reliability. Coordinate and develop root cause failure analysis on critical equipment failures. Problem solving and continuous improvement with a focus on long term reliability, serviceability and availability. Additional responsibilities as required.
Location: Roanoke, VA
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience: 2 years of experience in the job offered, or in a manufacturing engineer and/or maintenance engineering position. Experience must include supporting the improvement of machinery and equipment. Must have hands-on experience planning maintenance programs/activities. Experience can be gained concurrently.
