Sam Moore Furniture is a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation. Hooker Furnishings, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.

Position Summary:

The Purchasing Assistant/Admin will work alongside other purchasing coordinators, providing administrative support. The position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager. Main duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in processing purchase orders and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors and the internal logistics team to confirm order details and delivery schedules
  • Maintain up-to-date records of supplier information, current pricing, and lead times
  • Support the procurement team in conducting market research to identify potential suppliers
  • Follow up with vendors on delivery dates, shortages, and all other applicable communication as directed
  • Maintain ERP system to include active and inactive parts, set-up parts/fabric, price list, and all other applicable information
Qualifications:
  • Be proficient in MS Office - Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to navigate in-house software systems smoothly.
  • Be quick learners and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate a passion to serve others.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or business degree a plus)
  • Interest in purchasing or supply chain, with any related office or administrative experience a plus (furniture industry knowledge helpful but not required)
  • Knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory, and supply management systems (preferred, not required).
  • ERP system experience (preferred, not required).

Shift: 7:30 am- 4:30pm Monday-Friday
