Description:

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Compensation: $60-$80 per hour

We are collaborating with a leading AI research lab on an advanced initiative focused on frontier-level biological reasoning and problem-solving. This project seeks experienced biology experts to design challenging, Olympiad-style biology problems that intentionally push state-of-the-art AI models beyond their current capabilities.

This is a short-term, high-impact, fully remote opportunity for individuals interested in applying deep biological expertise to cutting-edge AI research, with potential for project extension based on performance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Create original, advanced International Biology Olympiad (IBO)-style biology problems designed to challenge frontier AI models.
  • Assess AI-generated solutions for correctness, clarity, depth, and scientific rigor.
  • Identify logical gaps, incomplete reasoning, conceptual errors, or insufficiently rigorous explanations in model outputs.
  • Develop clear, precise, and fully correct reference solutions, including structured reasoning and derivations, using proper LaTeX formatting.
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards for problem difficulty, precision, and scientific accuracy.
Required Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Strong proficiency in writing and formatting technical documents using LaTeX.

You are a strong fit if you meet one or more of the following:

  • Hold a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field.
  • Are a current or former participant or medalist in the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) or equivalent national/international competitions (e.g., RBO, CBO, USABO, INBO, BBO, EUBO, NSBO, JBO, IBO TST, or similar).

Additional Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of core theoretical and experimental biology concepts within your domain.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex biological reasoning in written form.
  • Strong judgment in evaluating the rigor, structure, and difficulty of advanced biology problems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail when verifying solutions and scientific correctness.
Engagement Details
  • Time Commitment: Minimum 20 hours per week; up to 40 hours per week available
  • Project Duration: Approximately 2 months, with potential extension based on performance and project needs
  • Start Timeline: Rolling start dates; onboarding typically completed within 1–2 days of approval
  • Work Model: Fully remote, flexible schedule
  • Contract Type: Independent contractor
Application Process
  • Submit a resume or CV highlighting academic background and relevant biology achievements.
  • Complete a short interview (approximately 20–30 minutes).
  • Fill out a brief questionnaire detailing experience with biology problem writing and Olympiad participation.
  • Selected candidates will be contacted within a few days with next steps.
Contract & Payment Terms
  • Independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote, self-managed schedule
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise based on services rendered
  • Project scope and duration may be adjusted based on performance and research needs
  • No access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
