Job Title: Extruder Operator 1.5" - Nights

Pay: $19.03/hour
(Base $17.30 + 10% night shift differential already included)

Schedule:
6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Monday-Thursday
Some schedule flexibility required; overtime available

Position Summary

The Extruder Operator 1.5" - Nights is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring 1½" extrusion equipment used in the manufacturing of fiber optic cable. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality, machine performance, and overall production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret setup sheets to determine product specifications, machine adjustments, and material requirements
• Set up, operate, and continuously monitor the 1.5" extrusion line for standard products
• Inspect and measure products at multiple stages of production to ensure quality standards are met
• Apply print to cables using jet printers as required
• Accurately complete all required production and quality documentation
• Clean equipment to prevent contamination and maintain production standards
• Identify production defects, complete non-conformance paperwork, and assist with troubleshooting
• Follow all safety procedures and quality guidelines
• Support a positive, team-oriented production environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 6+ months of manufacturing or machine-operation experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use tools and measuring devices
• Ability to read instructions and follow quality procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Regular standing and walking
• Frequent lifting and movement of materials up to 50 lbs
• Requires strong vision (including color vision) and hearing
• Moderate noise environment with exposure to mechanical equipment and airborne particles
• All required safety equipment provided
