POSITION OVERVIEW:
William Paterson University invites applications for a Tenure Track full-time faculty
position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Business Analytics in the
Department of Management, Marketing, and Professional Sales (MMPS) of the
AACSB-Accredited Cotsakos College of Business. We welcome applicants from all
areas of analytics, information systems, statistics, data science, decision sciences,
or management with a quantitative focus. Candidates with teaching or research
experience in analytics, statistics, or operations management are especially
encouraged to apply. This position carries full benefits and a competitive salary.
Position starts August 25, 2026.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, online, hybrid and/or in person, in Business Analytics or related fields as per department need. Develop syllabi, deliver course content, and assess student learning in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Provide students with consistent, timely and effective advisement, support, mentoring and guidance in their academic and co-curricular endeavors in accordance with university guidelines.
- Perform other teaching duties as assigned, depending on departmental needs.
Research and Scholarship:
- Pursue scholarly activities to maintain scholarly academic qualification status for AACSB accreditation.
- Collaborations with department and College faculty on scholarly activities as appropriate.
Service:
- Attend department and college meetings and participate in activities and events of the department, college, and university designed for student recruitment, retention, and graduation .
- Participate in and contribute to assurance of learning, curriculum, program development and assessment, and accreditation reporting.
- Serve on department, college, and university committees as needed.
- Engage with the business community and participate in professional development activities.
- Other service duties as assigned, depending on departmental needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Doctoral degree in the appropriate field (Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline) from an accredited institution; ABD considered (Doctorate is earned by March 1 within the first year of appointment in order to be considered for reappointment. .
- An established record of scholarship and/or experience to meet the college's criteria for Scholarly Academic (SA) or Instructional Practitioner (IP) faculty.
- Evidence of successful college-level teaching or strong potential for effective instruction.
- Willing to contribute to curriculum development and department initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience teaching in online and hybrid formats.
- Ability to teach courses in healthcare related data analytics to support emergent Healthcare Admin programs.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support student engagement and success.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
