A Brief Overview

As a Technician Apprentice, you'll receive training designed to equip you with the skills needed to become a skilled auto glass technician. After completing our program, you'll earn the Safelite SafeTech certification, enabling you to perform glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently. We expect our trainees to embrace the Safelite Spirit with a positive attitude and a commitment to exceptional service, ensuring our customers receive timely and high-quality solutions.

What you will do

  • Engage in paid training through hands-on experience and classroom learning to master the Safelite methods.
  • Learn to assist in the installation and repair of auto glass.
  • Become proficient in recalibrating automotive safety systems, including diagnostic testing.
  • Provide additional automotive services and products.
  • Study and pass required testing to achieve Safelite-certified Technician status.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles, as well as necessary tools and chemicals.
  • Perform other assigned duties and comply with all policies and standards.

What you'll receive:

  • Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour, escalating to $24.00/hour after training and certification.
  • Add $5 per set of wiper blades sold to enhance customer safety.
  • Promotional opportunities within your first year—earn up to $26.50/hour as a Senior Technician and $29.00/hour as a Master Technician based on performance metrics.
  • A comprehensive benefits package valued at over $10,000, including a 401(k) with company matching, medical plans, paid time off, holidays, and volunteer days.
  • Options to buy additional PTO or sell unused time (up to 16 hours).
  • Annual tuition reimbursement up to $5,250.
  • Fully paid training along with all necessary tools and resources for your success.

Education Qualifications

  • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent.
  • Required: Valid state-issued driver's license as per federal, state, and local laws for operating a company vehicle.

Experience Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for long durations and work in tight spaces with physical flexibility.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Understand motor vehicle operation laws as well as agree to vehicle safety monitoring.
  • Display professionalism and a genuine passion for outstanding customer service.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work with chemicals, following safety protocols.
  • Flexible working hours to meet customer needs.
  • Skilled in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative work skills.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting English and technical instructions.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance aligning with Company standards.
  • Capable of performing under pressure and managing time-based tasks efficiently.
