• Define and implement cloud-native and microservices architectures.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure applications.
• Automate manual business processes, to increase operational efficiency.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code that meets our engineering standards.
• Together with a few other chefs, youll help our clients to build and productionize products. As an autonomous stream-aligned team , you might deal with a wide spectrum of Data, Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps-related problems.
• Your default will be delivering a timely and tangible output. Simple, interpretable, impactful, and straightforward workflows are your main weapons. That however doesnt hinder you from using complex tools when the situation demands it.
• Youll help with interviewing and selecting future chefs. Well train you on how to conduct effective, chef-style interviews!
• Actively share knowledge with your team and learn from their expertise in return.

What youll bring

• Extensive programming experience across multiple paradigms, including object-oriented, imperative, and functional programming.
• Proficiency in Python is essential, as it is the primary language for most of our projects.
• Experience with infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi. If you prefer connecting to production systems via SSH and enjoy using bash, this role might not be the best fit.
• Experience in technical data modeling and strategic domain modeling, with a strong emphasis on Domain-Driven Design (DDD), which is highly valued at DataChef.
• Expertise with containerised applications and orchestration platforms.
• Experience with React (or NextJS).
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of software design practices and architecture, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
• At least 5+ years of relevant industry experience
• Motivated by client problems, and find joy in creating simple, elegant solutions that avoid unnecessary complexity.
• Moving off any solution before asking questions, listening actively, exploring the context, and simply building trust with clients.
• Passion for simplifying and clearly explaining complex topics in person and in writing.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Wed love you to have (extra nice)

• Experience with Kafka or NATS
• Experience with .NET and C#
• Experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments.
• Contributions to open-source projects. We appreciate those green dots on GitHub!
• Solid computer science knowledge. Have you designed an $O(n)$ sorting algorithm?! Send us your cocktail recipe (we dont need your resume).
