Salary: $115,000 - $138,000/yr (plus profit-sharing bonus)
Summary:
Our client, a global leader in climate control and data center cooling technologies, is seeking a Senior HVAC Design Engineer to lead the development of next-generation Data Center Cooling Products. This position requires deep HVAC expertise, strong leadership skills, and a track record of driving complex design projects from concept through production. The ideal candidate excels in system-level architecture, component optimization, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of advanced HVAC systems, driving innovation, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee component selection, ensuring components meet strict performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and review advanced refrigeration cycle modeling, performance optimization, and failure mode evaluation.
- Lead system integration efforts involving mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical leadership in interpreting and developing electrical diagrams, control logic, and system architectures.
- Guide cross-functional teams and collaborate directly with customers and external partners to define requirements and deliver top-tier solutions.
- Oversee and direct product testing, validation, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical direction and design oversight.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in HVAC system design, refrigeration systems, or related advanced engineering roles.
- Expert knowledge of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, airside systems, and component functionality.
- Strong command of electrical diagrams, controls integration, and system-wide engineering.
- Proven ability to lead complex design projects and deliver results under demanding timelines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced CAD proficiency.
- Significant experience with large commercial HVAC, industrial refrigeration, or data center cooling systems.
- Strong background in product testing, system troubleshooting, and design validation.
