FLSA: Exempt

Hiring Range: Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant, graduate education in the field, related full-time occupational employment, and full-time equivalent teaching.

Full Time or Part Time: Part Time

Job Description: Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse, culturally competent staff at all levels of the organization who reflect the demographics of our students. We also believe in providing an ongoing investment in our faculty and staff to deepen their skills and competencies to serve the full range of our student population. Part-time adjunct, faculty-ranked appointment, teaching dual-enrolled high school students in college classes. Classes taught in-person in the Richmond area. Disciplines with immediate needs:

ART - ART

CST - Communication Studies and Theatre

HUM - Humanities

MUS - Music

PLS - Political Science

PHI - Philosophy

SPA - Spanish

Disciplines with recurring needs

HIS - History

ENG - English

PSY - Psychology

REL - Religion

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in discipline or related field; or Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in discipline.

Additional Considerations:

  • Community college or high school teaching experience is preferred.
  • Experience with dual enrollment is preferred.
  • Experience teaching online courses synchronously via Zoom; and experience with Canvas are preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to place a strong emphasis on student-centered learning and provide an innovative e-learning experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion is preferred.
