divh2Production Manager/h2pThe Production Manager is responsible for providing timely technical operations support and management oversight for news broadcasts and other live and recorded programs./ppResponsibilities include:/pulliManaging all aspects of the Production Department/liliPlanning and managing staffing, training, and performance evaluations for the Production Department, including Control Room and Studio (non-talent) personnel/liliEnsuring that staffing levels are cost-effective and enough to meet the needs of the station/liliMaking decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination of employees/liliEnsuring station compliance with FCC broadcast rules and regulations/liliMonitoring broadcasts to ensure that programs conform to station quality standards, policies, and regulations/liliManaging the use of studio and editing resources/liliTraining employees in the use of equipment such as switchers, cameras, monitors, microphones, lights, and other production-related equipment/liliAssigning projects to staff and verifying that deadlines are being met/liliActing as a liaison between the Engineering and News departments/liliPerforming various production duties when necessitated by employee absence or other circumstances/liliPerforming other duties as assigned/li/ulpRequirements Skills:/pulliTechnical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience/liliFluency in English/liliExcellent communication skills, both oral and written/liliMinimum five years experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment, with at least two years experience in a leadership role (Depending on market size)/liliExperience guiding, directing, and motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance/liliExperience with broadcast equipment and production environments, including cameras, control boards, audio equipment, and editing systems./liliAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously./liliAbility to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills/liliKnowledge and/or experience with broadcast automation systems/liliExperience with graphic and animation design programs/liliProficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment/liliStrong PC/MS Office experience./li/ul/div
