Location & Schedule
- States: Massachusetts (MA), Michigan (MI), and Virginia (VA)
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm during training (approx. 4-5 months), with potential to move to 9:00 am - 5:30 pm afterward.

Position Overview: The Role of a Rating Specialist As a Commercial Lines Rating Specialist, you are the cornerstone of policy issuance, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery for small and middle-market commercial accounts. You'll use your expertise to determine the correct premium for commercial risks and process subsequent transactions. Work completed by these individuals must meet quality and service standards.

- Compensation: Starting pay of $21.00 / hour during the temp period. Conversion salary is $45,000 upon moving to a permanent role.

- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills , technology proficiency in MS Office Suite , and the ability to recognize discrepancies in data/information and proactively resolve them.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: - Premium Determination: Determine policy premiums using both automated methods (POS, PMS, and ACT) and manual methods.
- Policy Issuance: Complete timely and accurate issuance of Commercial Lines (CL) policies, quotes, endorsements, and subsequent transactions.
- Transaction Types: Rate and issue a variety of transactions, including new business, renewals, quotes, endorsements, non-renewals, rewrites, cancellations, crits, report values, and/or the registry for small and middle market business for multiple regions.
- Underwriting Partnership: Interpret issuance and rating instructions from CL Underwriters and partner with them to deliver a timely and accurate product for customers, agents, and insureds.
- Service & Support: Provide customer service support for agents and insureds by handling various inquiries, resolving errors, and requests.
- Compliance: Stays current with changing conformance or compliance issues, as well as procedural, system and/or workflow changes.
