We're currently looking for a Part Time Mental Health Aide / Companion in Boones Mill, VA 24065

A lovely family in Boones Mill, near Roanoke, is seeking a compassionate, experienced Caregiver to support a joyful, warm client with mental-health-related needs. Care is needed one day per week for a minimum of 2 hours. The family is flexible on which days and times depending on the candidate's availability.

This role is ideal for someone with a behavioral health background who can provide light oversight, companionship, medication organization, and support with recognizing mental-health red flags.

• Schedule:
  • One shift per week
    • 2-4 hours: Dependent on the candidate's availability and the needs of the client (longer shifts would have notice)
• Start date: ASAP
• Length of Position: Ongoing
• Rate: $60-80 per shift based on experience
• Age of Client: 71 years old

• Provide companionship, emotional support, and monitoring for mental-health-related red flags
• Communicate with family about concerns, updates, and changes in behavior
• Coordinate directly with medical providers as needed
• Assist with medication organization and checking medication expiration dates
• Offer medication reminders
• Provide occasional transportation to appointments with advanced notice

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 2+ years of paid, professional relevant experience
• Must be able to provide at least two professional relevant references, or references that collectively cover at least two years of professional experience, whichever is greater
• CPR certified or willing to become certified
• Has valid driver's license, clean driving record, and driver's insurance
• Must be able to successfully clear a background and social media check
• Preferred Education/Training: Certified Behavioral / Mental Health Technician or CNA or Medical Assisting
