Job Title: Manager Subcontracts

The Manager Subcontracts will be responsible for all aspects of the subcontract management lifecycle including participation in the formulation of Request for Contract (RFC) response content, and the formulation and execution of specific sourcing strategies. Develops & writes solicitations with subcontract language for purchase orders which meet program specific requirements and also negotiates teaming agreements with suppliers.

Responsibilities and tasks include overseeing the subcontract management team, supporting staff retention and performance development, leading efforts to proactively identify and resolve issues impacting subcontract performance and business to business commitments, working closely with various departments to drive compliance, developing sourcing strategies, leading supplier source selection efforts, developing and negotiating teaming agreements, and developing plans to ensure achievement of program and subcontract goals.

Education, experience, license, or certification requirements include a bachelor's degree, 5-10 years of functional (Subcontracts/Procurement) experience, 5-10 years of management experience, and 5-10 years of industry experience in Aerospace and Defense.

Skills and abilities include proven background in managing subcontracted projects, strong knowledge of subcontracting suppliers, quality assurance systems and methods, strong communication skills, awareness of technical aspects associated with production, strong program/project management experience, FAR/DFAR working knowledge, experience in Aerospace, military or similar industry, demonstrated electronic/mechanical knowledge, and knowledge of fixed pricing agreements and vendor managed inventory.

Travel requirements are 25-40% depending on home base location. The role is open to either full remote work or a hybrid role based in Roanoke, VA.
