Rockydale Quarries Corporation, an established aggregate producer, is seeking a Quarry Stock Truck Driver at our Roanoke location. Candidate must be able to operate heavy duty off-road earth or rock moving equipment such as, but not limited to, rigid frame or articulated haul units. May service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment, and will be required to perform other duties relating to quarry production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Inspect equipment for safety and mechanical deficiencies.
• Read and write, including filling out forms and work orders.
• Operate standard and automatic dump trucks.
• Open and close bin gates to properly load dump truck.
• Dump material into stockpiles. Will be required to dump on un-level terrain.

• Must have operating abilities in straight drive and/or automatic dump trucks or similar equipment.
• Ability to detect safety and mechanical deficiencies of equipment being operated through visual observation and listening to its operation.
• Ability to open and close gates through mechanical or push-button means.
• Ability to lubricate equipment properly.
• Ability to read forms, signage, and write up basic reports on equipment.
• Must have knowledge of MSHA standards and requirements.
• Must have knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility.
• Ability to read gauges & keep accurate records of operating procedures and maintenance history.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals pertaining to operation, parts, and basic maintenance.
• Ability to clean up the work place after the job.
• Ability to ensure good housekeeping in equipment.
• Ability to understand and comply with all safety requirements.

• Physical requirements include visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, climbing on equipment, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, climbing on equipment, working at heights up to 350 feet, repetitive motion, and squatting - all for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours) to perform the essential functions.
• Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required.
• Must be able to walk/stand on uneven ground, walkways and catwalks throughout the work day.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

• Must work outside in all weather conditions: heat, cold, dust, and wet a minimum of 8 hrs. per day. Work in high noise level areas while wearing proper PPE. May have exposure to dust, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc.
• Must be able to work overtime as required by job.
• Must be able to work days or nights as required.
