The Carpenter maintains, services, troubleshoots, analyzes/evaluates, repairs, and installs/constructs wooden structures, sheet metal, doors, windows, cabinets, shelves, locks, closers, door operators, all associated hardware for preceding items, and other parts of hospital facility as directed including large and/or complex systems.
The Carpenter:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of a trade or vocational school or equivalent experience.
Experience: Five years Carpentry/Locksmith experience in commercial or healthcare related maintenance required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: None.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Familiarity with all relevant codes for hospitals and commercial occupancies. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate with co-workers and others. Ability to maintain required records and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to use a computerized work order control system. May be asked to provide basic general purpose maintenance tools.
