Payroll Specialist I utilizes Carilion policy along with federal and state regulations to process time and attendance and to process deductions such as garnishments, child support, tax liens and wage assignments. Investigate errors and make necessary corrections. Process manual checks and vouchers to fund deductions from employees checks. Assures that employees receive checks on time and at proper locations. Payroll Specialist I - Prepares checks and direct deposits for Automated Mailing to do inserts and stuff checks and direct deposits for distribution. Records count of checks and direct deposits on log. Completes Breakdown sheets for each company and balances gross to net. Prepares journal entries for taxes and vouchers for Accounts Payable to fund Payroll withholding accounts. Process time worked by employees in UKG, may enters time into employee record system. Enters into payroll systems changes for deductions such as parking, SCA and Debt Recovery.
