Description:

Specific Elements and Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for the administrative and operational oversight of hospital performance improvement, quality outcomes, patient safety risk reduction/mitigation, infection control and prevention, professional practice evaluation, patient safety programs, regulatory management, clinical documentation integrity, and medical staff office.
  2. Collaborates with the Quality Management Committee, executive officers, medical executive committee, and board of trustees to develop the hospitals quality and patient safety strategies and annual goals.
  3. Leads the quality management and patient safety department in developing and applying quality management and risk reduction strategies hospital-wide.
  4. Communicates and educates staff and medical community about quality and patient safety activities, serving as a resource.
  5. Provides direction to the QM department and oversees related committees, including peer review, infection control, clinical excellence, and patient safety.
  6. Manages the QM/patient safety department within defined financial parameters.
  7. Coordinates and monitors comprehensive medical staff quality management programs.
  8. Represents the facility at division and corporate levels for hospital quality and patient safety programs.
  9. Oversees hospital quality incentive programs.
  10. Engages with executive, administrative, and medical leaders to support quality and safety initiatives.
  11. Ensures survey readiness for JC accreditation and addresses deficiencies in collaboration with hospital leadership.
  12. Works to expand knowledge of quality and patient safety, introducing new ideas and concepts to LGMC.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ to 5 years of experience
  • Management experience required - No
  • Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Skills and Certifications:

  • CPHQ certification
  • Nursing BSN
  • Experience in quality control
  • Experience working in a quality role at a facility with 500+ beds

Ideal Candidate: Must have worked their way up in a hospital setting and possess a nursing degree.
