Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer Generator Interconnections to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will lead and contribute to technical studies and project management activities supporting Generator Interconnection (GI) studies under the SPP Tariff. You will apply advanced engineering judgment, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely study completion. Conduct technical studies: Perform power flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analyses to support Generator Interconnection (GI) requests.
Lead projects: Manage GI study projects, ensuring timely, accurate delivery while mentoring junior engineers.
Collaborate with stakeholders: Coordinate with internal teams, transmission owners, interconnection customers, and consultants to gather data, resolve issues, and communicate results.
Support process improvement: Enhance engineering tools and procedures, recommend automation opportunities, and implement best practices.
Ensure regulatory compliance: Apply SPP's OATT (Attachment V), FERC/NERC standards, and SPP planning criteria to all studies.
Contribute to team culture: Promote knowledge-sharing, training, and alignment with SPP's core values and strategic goals.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required.
