Job Details

Performs difficult professional work in appraising residential/rural real property for assessment purposes. Conducts field inspections of properties to be appraised, collects data for new construction and appraises properties with splits or rezoning. Assists the public with questions concerning assessments, and performs duties to assist the Director and Assistant Director of Real Estate Valuation. Work is performed independently, but is subject to administrative review by the Director of Real Estate Valuation. An employee in this class must be thoroughly familiar with the methods and techniques involved in appraising real property, and with the laws and ordinances governing real property tax assessments.
