About The Role
We are seeking a strong, hands-on Shift Operations Manager to lead and oversee all plant operations during the D Shift. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and overall performance by managing cross-functional teams across the entire plant. While not a subject matter expert (SME) in any one area, this role requires strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to ensure smooth shift execution and alignment with production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all operational activities across production, maintenance, quality, and logistics during D Shift.
- Ensure safe operations and compliance with company safety standards and policies.
- Monitor plant performance and key metrics, proactively addressing any issues that impact productivity or quality.
- Act as the primary decision-maker and escalation point for all operational matters on shift.
- Drive shift start-up and shutdown processes, ensuring continuity across shift changes.
- Coordinate with department leads and supervisors to ensure alignment of resources and priorities.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs, monitor workflows, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Plant Manager and other shift managers.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development support to team members.
- Ensure proper documentation of shift activities, incidents, and production outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of production operations, safety protocols, and performance management.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage shift-level accountability.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across departments.
- Willingness to work night/weekend shift and be on-site during shift hours.
