Job Details

This position is located in the Warehouse area of the Logistics Service in a Veteran Affairs Health Care System (VA HCS) and supported catchment area. The position is located at an assigned Veterans Administration medical facility performing warehouse work. The position serves as a lead over a group of Materials Handlers within a warehouse setting.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
* Leads a crew to accomplish assigned projects and daily operational functions;
* Ensures awareness of trade techniques and practices;
* Demonstrates proper work methods and works along with others;
* Provides staff with daily tasks and follows up to confirm completion;
* Checks work while in progress and when finished;
* Discusses with supervisor the training requirements, problems and other issues;
* Assists in developing plans for storage and arrangement of stock;
* Advises workers on guidelines or special instruction to meet deadlines;
* Consolidates materials to provide maximum space utilization and protection of materials;
* Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials;
* Serves as a senior member of the warehouse project team when involved with special projects;
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:15am - 5:00pm
