STATEMENT OF DUTIES Court Services. Performs routine protective services work in maintaining security of the Roanoke County Courthouse Complex. Processes entrants through the security checkpoints; searching courtrooms and other locations for contraband or security risks; provides escort and supervision of inmates present in the courthouse; maintain logs; serve and process civil and criminal papers. Performs other duties as assigned. Deputy Sheriff I may be assigned to either the corrections, court services, or administrative divisions; assuming various duties within each.
