Job Purpose

As Manufacturing Engineering Manager you'll play a key role in leading the team of Manufacturing, Industrial, and

Process Engineers to drive plant wide improvements ensuring products meet customer specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leading, developing and managing a group of Engineers.
  • Determine best practice methods and sequences of manufacturing operations in collaboration with the Manufacturing Engineering Team
  • Ensure products and processes meet customer quality requirements by providing input and manufacturing plans for product design or modification.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to current manufacturing processes by analyzing production, labor standards, and material cost, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Assure process control and reliability for broad areas of manufacturing.
  • Apply continuous improvements and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical or high-impact areas of production.
  • Design and prepare concept drawings and implement new equipment, prototypes, or modifications to existing equipment.
  • Evaluate capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications.
  • Manage capital equipment projects and other special projects as required.
  • Be comfortable managing two shifts, day, and night.
  • Be able to work on a third-party manufacturing site.
  • Excellent customer service skills, our customer is onsite.

Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or BS with a material science focus, plus 5-10 years of related experience required.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience leading others
  • Knowledge of product design, assembly, machining, tooling, and materials
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Documented experience driving process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing process and procedure development experience
  • Automation experience is a plus.
  • Power BI or other KPI software experience
