About Mersen Anticorrosion Equipment (ACE) business


In the rapidly evolving chemical industry, Mersen stands at the forefront, revolutionizing operations with cutting-edge graphite anticorrosion equipment. Mersen's solutions are not just about enduring harsh environments; they're about leading the industry towards more efficient, safer, and sustainable chemical processing. Mersen USA ACE Corp. is the North American branch of the ACE Business Unit responsible for generating the ACE business in North America (Canada, USA, Mexico). ACE USA consists of 3 sites located in Salem, VA, Gonzales, LA, and Louisville, KY. And a total of 120 employees. To further grow the market, ACE USA is expanding the sales organization and searching for a Product Manager Engineered Systems, to lead the business growth efforts for our Systems Technology. This position is located at Mersen ACE USA's main site in Salem Virginia and requires living in near proximity of the site.



Responsibilities



  • Ability to manage and motivate a highly technically capable team to meet customer requirements and Mersen commitments.

  • Well organized for tracking and managing all active and potential systems projects.

  • Willingness to put in the time and effort required to deliver the target results for Mersen and our clients.

  • Strong at promoting collaboration internally (Design Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Sales Reps) and externally with clients and suppliers to find solutions to challenges and required performance of products.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize against goals and objectives; and the ability to develop new solutions, processes, and operational plans that position Mersen ACE for positive outcomes in the target marketspace.

  • Develop industry and client relationships, and a thorough understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the Mersen systems and those of our competitors.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to client and supplier sites, sometimes extensively.

  • Excellent at establishing clear goals, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing robust tracking systems, providing ongoing coaching and training, regularly reviewing performance data, and adjusting strategies based on insights gained.

  • Mastering negotiations.



Main Missions



  • Generate continuing sales of Mersen ACE systems (HCl/HBr synthesis, HCl/HBr recovery, Acid dilution).

  • Manage and build Systems team (currently 3 engineers) to ensure future health and capability.

  • Coordinate and sometimes collaborate with global Systems team based in Pagny, France.

  • Work with sales reps in the Mersen NA region to support existing and new potential clients.

  • Manage the major projects, and track project management of the smaller projects as managed by Systems engineers.

  • Collaborate with Service Center in providing support to existing clients – a substantial source of ongoing revenue and business.

  • Find and develop new business opportunities extending the markets and clients served.



Qualifications



  • Engineering BS, preferably Chemical or Mechanical, or equivalent experience and 5+ years prior relevant experience. A Master's degree with 5-10+ years of experience is a plus. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Proven experience in a process industry such as chemical or similar.

  • Excellent communications skills including the ability to communicate with senior management of both Mersen and external organizations such as clients, vendors, and technical organizations via written and oral presentations, development of technical papers, promotion pieces, regular project updates, or similar products.

  • Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision, and establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, functional managers, and peers across Mersen.

  • Self-starter and ability to manage time independently without direct supervision.

  • Possess business and technical vision.

  • Good understanding of commercial and legal principles in constructing legal and commercial documents. Strong ability to negotiate in both of these areas to achieve Mersen target margins and provide customer the best value among competitive offers.

  • Ability to think strategically.

  • Possess analytical presentation and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness and Ability to seek out new clients in existing markets, and explore and develop opportunities in new markets.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively motivate and direct a diverse team of employees and help them in their career developments.

  • Ability to work well and effectively in an international organization, including matrix management.

  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
