Koniag Management Solutions (KMS) seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to design, implement, and optimize our customer's Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure technologies, and will be responsible for driving cloud adoption, ensuring best practices, and delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions for our customer. This position requires someone who can bridge technical expertise with business needs, providing strategic direction for our cloud initiatives.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Azure-based cloud solutions that meet our customer's business and technical requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure services

  • Develop cloud architecture standards, patterns, and practices

  • Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code deployments using ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep

  • Implement security controls and compliance frameworks to ensure secure cloud operations

  • Architect resilient solutions with appropriate disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development and operations teams

  • Evaluate new Azure technologies and services for potential business value

  • Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions integrating on-premises infrastructure with Azure

  • Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost-efficiency

  • Develop monitoring strategies and implement observability solutions

  • Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Create detailed technical documentation for cloud architectures and deployment processes

  • Participate in strategic planning for cloud adoption and migration initiatives

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure or systems engineering

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing and implementing Microsoft Azure solutions

  • Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert required; Azure Fundamentals and Azure Administrator Associate preferred)

  • Demonstrated experience architecting and implementing enterprise-grade cloud solutions

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Deep expertise in Azure services including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep

  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure Resource Manager

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Instances)

  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks

  • Experience with disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity planning

  • Knowledge of network architecture, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing

  • Database design and management experience (SQL Server, CosmosDB, Azure SQL)

  • Proficiency with monitoring and logging solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insight

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • Secret clearance required

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Additional cloud platform experience (AWS, Google Cloud)

  • Experience with microservices architecture

  • Knowledge of serverless computing concepts and implementation

  • Familiarity with API design and management

  • Experience with identity and access management solutions

  • Multi-cloud strategy development and implementation

  • Cost optimization and cloud financial management experience

  • Machine learning or AI integration experience

  • Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government)

  • Project management certification or experience

  • Additional Microsoft certifications beyond those required
