The Facilities Support Assistant is part of the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute's Facilities and Technical Operations team and reports to the institute's Associate Director for Facilities. The Facilities Support Assistant will receive and distribute all packages and mail for all Health Sciences and Technologies campus departments located in Roanoke, VA. The position will assist with outgoing shipments and is responsible for accepting, inspecting, stocking, and transferring deliveries. The candidate will also help set up the facilities for various public and internal events. The facilities assistant will assist with laboratory setup and troubleshoot and coordinate the repair of laboratory equipment, such as biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, incubators, vacuum pumps, and other instrumentation.
