Head of Engineering – Motion Control Systems

A global leader in Industrial Automation is seeking an experienced Sr. Manager of Engineering to lead its Applications and Systems Engineering team. This high-impact, customer-facing role combines technical leadership with strategic planning - driving both innovation and execution in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team supporting customer-facing application and system engineering efforts.
• Serve as the technical liaison across pre-sale and post-sale activities—including field service support, commissioning, and customer training.
• Manage key performance indicators through continuous improvement, kaizen, and structured problem-solving.
• Interface with production, quality, and R&D to deliver products that meet evolving customer and market needs.
• Contribute to long-term strategy by forecasting technical trends and integrating emerging technologies.
• Travel up to 40% to support key customer engagements and project implementations.

Who You Are:

• A strategic and tactical thinker with 10+ years in Industrial Automation.
• 5+ years of customer-facing engineering experience, ideally in applications or systems engineering.
• Skilled in motion control, fieldbus protocols, electrical schematics, and hands-on diagnostics.
• Proven leadership in managing engineering teams and budgets.
• U.S. person status (required for export control compliance).

Your Background:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Deep understanding of motion control systems, quality standards, and customer success methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
